Privacy Policy

This policy covers a private, self-hosted Home Assistant instance operated by a single household. The application is not offered to the public and has no users other than the members of that household.

What data is accessed

When a household member authorises this application with their Google account, it may access, via the Google Smart Device Management API, data from Nest devices that the household owns. This includes device state such as temperature, humidity, thermostat mode and setpoints, and camera events.

How it is used and stored

Data is used solely to display device state and to run home automations. It is retrieved directly by the household's own server and stored on hardware located in the household's home. It is not processed by any third-party service operated on our behalf.

What is not done with it

• It is not sold, rented, or shared with any third party.
• It is not used for advertising, profiling, or analytics.
• It is not transferred to anyone outside the household.

Retention and deletion

Device history is retained locally only as long as it is useful for automation and charting, and is purged on a routine schedule. Access can be revoked at any time from the Google Account permissions page, which immediately ends this application's access.
